Thank you for considering a gift to the NWDSA!

2011 has been another busy year for the NWDSA. This year saw the 1st Annual World Down Syndrome Day celebration, the 6th annual All Born “In” Conference, the completion of the Kindergarten Inclusion Cohort Pilot and the launch of the 2nd cohort, the 13th annual Buddy Walk, the 2nd Annual Tee Up for Down Syndrome Golf Tournament and lots of parent and classroom support and advocacy. In order to continue this work in these trying economic times, we need your financial help! If you find yourself with the resources to give back to your community this year, please consider giving a gift to the NWDSA. Here are some ways you can donate, and help your money go farther:

  • Make a cash donation. We are excellent stewards of our resources, and will make good use of your gift; we typically double the value of your gift through volunteer time and in-kind donations. Here are some other ways to stretch your gift.
    • Find out if your employer has a matching-gift program. Many do and this is a simple way to double your contribution.
    • For gifts received before the end of the year, a generous family has offered to match all gifts under $100.
  • Donate your car at through Donate for Charity. The NWDSA will receive 70-80% of the value of your car. Donate before December 31st to receive a deduction on your 2011 taxes! Scroll down to learn how to donate your vehicle.
  • Donate frequent flyer miles to help send an NWDSA Board Member to Washington, DC for the Buddy Walk on Washington, an important opportunity to advocate for the disability community in the halls of Congress.
  • Become a key sponsor for the All Born “In” Conference or the 2012 Buddy Walk.

Here are a few examples of how your money may be spent:

  • $25 pays for the mailing of 5 New Parent Guides to new families
  • $50 pays for a scholarship to the All Born “In” inclusion conference
  • $100 pays for volunteer childcare stipends for Reciprocal Learning Community event
  • $500 pays one month’s rent at the Resourcefulness Center
  • $1500 pays for printing and mailing of one edition of Stepping Up, our quarterly newsletter
  • $2500 pays for a family social
  • $5000 pays for the catering for the All Born “In” conference

Donate Your Vehicle

You can help NWDSA with your vehicle donation.

Running or not, we can pick up in all 50 states!

Most title and estate issues can be easily resolved.

By donating your vehicle to Northwest Down Syndrome Association:

  • Help us maintain and expand our important work
  • Avoid the possibility of receiving a low trade-in value from a dealer, or the anxiety and hassle of selling to a private party

If you decide to donate your vehicle:

  • It will be picked up free of charge
  • It will be sold at auction or older vehicles can be sold for parts
  • Proceeds will go to the Northwest Down Syndrome Association
  • You will receive a receipt entitling you to a tax deduction

Our vehicle donation program is made possible through our partnership with Donate For Charity. When you are ready to donate your vehicle, you may call Donate For Charity toll-free at (866) 392-4483 or donate online or at their website: www.donateforcharity.com.
