About Tee UP for DOWN Syndrome

Sometimes the most wonderful gifts we receive are the ones that are totally unexpected. My husband, Bill, and I were thrilled when our daughter, Jennifer, gave birth to Riley almost five years ago. Little did we know the power this precious baby with Down syndrome would have in capturing our hearts, changing our lives, and being among the best things to ever happen in our family.

Riley and G’pa were buddies from the get go. Seldom apart, they played together and learned from one another. The bond they created was so strong it could only be broken by Bill’s unexpected death on October 11, 2009. That Sunday was the last day Bill talked with Riley and the last day he played golf with his buddies at Persimmon Golf Course.

In honor of Bill and his love for Riley, on October 11, 2010 we’ll “Tee Up for Down Syndrome” at the
1st Annual Bill Fallis Memorial Golf Tournament with 100% of the proceeds going to the Northwest Down Syndrome Association (NWDSA). The Awards BBQ (valued at $25), will follow the tournament and will be discounted for adults who come strictly for the live music, raffle and auction. Your family, friends and neighbors are encouraged to join you for a fun-filled day … and it’s a school holiday, so don’t forget the kids (if they’re under 12, the BBQ is free!)

I welcome your questions at melaniefallis@gmail.com and wish to thank you for participating. It will be my pleasure to meet you personally on October 11th.

Sincerely,
Melanie Fallis
